Who we are
The Tennessee Walking Horse Association of Western Canada was incorporated in 1998. We are a group of walking horse enthusiasts throughout Western Canada who work together to promote and enjoy this great breed that we all love.
Our goal is to establish a positive public image and enhance awareness of the Tennessee Walking Horse. We do this through educational forums, distribution of information to the public, walking horse owners, and through the support and sponsoring of clinics, shows, trail rides, and other equestrian events. Our association provides a booth at the Mane Event in Red Deer Alberta, as well as one in Fultonvale, Alberta at the Fultonvale Horse Show Case. Our purpose is to introduce new people to the breed and to unite Walking Horse owners throughout Western Canada.

Our Stance on Soring
Our club does not endorse or condone the abuse or soring of the
Tennessee Walking Horse. Our shows have never, and will never, include padded
performance classes. Our horses are shown flat shod or barefoot depending
on the footing and personal needs of the horse. 100% of our focus as a club is
to maintain the natural gait and versatility that has made the Tennessee
Walking Horse a desirable mount for many generations.
