Gaited Experience 2015

It was wonderful to have Tracy Pinson and Carrie Martin at our 2015 Gaited Experience Clinic.

This is the first time our club has had a Trail Obstacle portion to our clinic, and it was a great addition! Tracy worked with horse/riders who have never seen a Cowboy Curtain or Tarp to a horse that has begun competing in the Extreme Cowboy Races. This was a diverse group of horse/riders which made Tracy's job challenging to find the right balance for all participants. The reactions I heard all weekend were all very positive, as some had never had the chance to try these things at home. For those with more experience it was wonderful to get feedback from someone who's competed at such a high level at Extreme Cowboy Racing.

Carrie Martin's focus was in the round pen and on gait and rider aids. What a difference some small adjustments make. I watched many riders go round and round; and the horse begin to respond with more animation as Carrie made suggestions from the ground. I don't know how she didn't get dizzy from walking all those small circles all day for 18 riders per day.

Our club wishes to thank Neitak Equestrian for hosting our clinic and supplying a fantastic Saturday night dinner. Carrie Martin and Tracy Pinson for being such wonderful clinicians for our annual Gaited Experience. Thank you to Lisa Adams-Bozak our Clinic Director for organizing everything.
